Fashion giant Valentino announced the departure of its creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, marking the end of an era. After 25 years with the house,  Piccioli’s vision will no longer guide the iconic Italian brand. A “new creative organization” will be announced soon.

Piccioli joined Valentino in 1999 and rose to co-creative director in 2008 alongside Maria Grazia Chiuri. He took over as sole creative director in 2016, defining a romantic yet thoroughly modern aesthetic for the brand. Opulent colors, dramatic silhouettes, and a commitment to inclusivity became hallmarks of his Valentino.

Piccioli’s work propelled Valentino to a new level of  global recognition. Industry insiders now eagerly await both Piccioli’s next move and the announcement of Valentino’s new creative leadership.
