Tiwa Savage’s Debut Film “Water and Garri” Set for Global Premiere on Prime Video in 2024

Prime Video is gearing up to exclusively release the Nigerian film “Water and Garri” in over 240 countries and territories worldwide in 2024. This eagerly anticipated drama features Nigerian superstar singer/songwriter Tiwa Savage in the leading role.
“Water and Garri” tells the poignant story of Aisha, portrayed by Savage, an ambitious fashion designer who returns to her home country after a decade in the United States. She comes back following a family loss, only to find her hometown transformed by escalating violence and heightened tensions. As Aisha reconnects with her family, old friends, and a former love, she faces the challenge of living with the scars of her past and addressing the guilt she left behind. The film, shot in the scenic city of Cape Coast, Ghana, promises a cinematic experience filled with compelling storytelling and stunning visuals. Joining Savage in the cast are notable actors Mike Afolarin (Far From Home), Andrew Bunting (Dynamite), and Jemima Osunde (New Money).

“Water and Garri” is a joint production between Everything Savage, Unbound Studios, and JM Films. The film is directed and edited by Meji Alabi, produced by Jimi Adesanya, and written by Comfort Emmanuel, featuring music by Tiwa Savage. The executive producers include Savage, Vannessa Amadi-Ogbonna, Adesanya, and Alabi.
