Ini Dima-Okojie and Abasi Ene-Obong’s Traditional Wedding: A Tale of Rich Culture & Love
Nollywood sweetheart Ini Dima-Okojie recently tied the knot with the love of her life, Abasi Ene-Obong, first in a civil wedding, then in a rich display of culture at the traditional wedding on May 19th, 2022 and May 21st, 2022, respectively.
Abasi, the founder and CEO of 54gene, an African genomics company building the world’s first pan-African biobank, proposed to Ini after two years of dating. The pair then announced their engagement on social media in June 2021.
Their families and a large group of 1,000 friends, celebrity guests, and well-wishers joined them for the traditional wedding at Harbour Point, a deluxe event centre in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The special day was an exotic mix of two Nigerian cultures – Edo and Calabar. Ini, who is from Edo state, was styled by famed Nigerian Designer, Tubo for her Edo outfit and after-party look, while renowned fashion designer Lanre Dasilva transformed her into the regal Calabar bride. Ini, who is usually on the best-dressed list, did not disappoint us or her fans as we all were curious to see her fashion choices for her big day, and boy, were we mesmerised.
The traditional wedding, which was themed #Achocolatelovestory was a star-studded affair which saw her Nollywood industry colleagues celebrate her.
Celebrities like Kate Henshaw, Uti Nwachukwu, Nancy Isime, Toke Makinwa, Shaffy Bello, and many more, including celebrity fashion designers who made the stunning bride’s outfits, Lanre Da Silva Ajayi and Tubobereni were also in attendance.

Master of Ceremony, Roby Ekpo, together with music superstars such as Wandecoal, Dj Crowd-controller, Chike, Event Compere Jimmie and others, thrilled the guests at the wedding party. We could tell that no one wanted to leave!
The wedding was indeed a vibrant traditional function, and every minute of it was filled with beauty, love and glamour.
We wish the newlyweds a happy married life.
