Jason Lee, the founder of Hollywood Unlocked, recently voiced his concerns about the lack of support for Black media during Beyoncé’s Renaissance tour. On the December 1 episode of The Jason Lee Podcast, he expressed disappointment that the tour, despite its celebration of Black and LGBTQ+ communities, did not extend similar support to media outlets representing these groups.

Lee criticized Beyoncé’s longtime publicist, Yvette Noel-Schure, for overlooking Black and gay-owned media platforms. He compared Beyoncé’s engagement with the community to Rihanna’s, praising Rihanna for her deeper connection with the culture and awareness of the influencers shaping it.

In a candid revelation, Lee shared that he had personally invested $40,000 in Renaissance tour tickets, hinting at further undisclosed support for Beyoncé. He alluded to having more information that he chose not to release, hinting at potential repercussions from Beyoncé’s fans.

Lee’s critique comes amidst his efforts to secure an interview with Kelly Rowland, warning that any denial in response to his comments about Beyoncé would compel him to reveal the withheld information.

Additionally, Lee recently made headlines for his harsh criticism of Jennifer Hudson, labeling her as “illiterate” following her exclusive interview with Jeannie Mai on a daytime talk show.

This discourse highlights the ongoing conversation about representation and support for Black media in the entertainment industry, particularly in relation to prominent figures like Beyoncé.
